Diesis

design Alessandro and Francesco Mendini

The special fibers used in crafting these components enhance the acoustic absorption, as the curves or cylinders are based on precise ratios and measurements to achieve specific layers of fiber. Additionally, atop these somewhat mysterious objects are iron panels of a particular shape, allowing the fibers to hang like drapery. The visual softness of these components shares a connection with the delicacy of textile furnishings, making them suitable for use in classic environments where rigid shapes might not be introduced. The Diesis (Sharp) and Bemolle (Flat) components we’ve designed are modular and can be tailored to sizes that optimize their performance. They appear rather mysterious because they represent a truly new and unusual phenomenon in the acoustic sphere. (Atelier Mendini)

Diesis and Bemolle are sound-absorbing elements with a steel base and drapes based on Snowsound Fiber technology. These pieces feature steel frames at the top, creating the sound-absorbing drape and assuming precise rays and layers designed to optimize acoustic performance. Diesis is available in both ceiling-mounted and free-standing versions.
